“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own and my own know me”. John 10:14"
We are so proud of all the children who took part in our Parliament Election. They showed great courage by putting themselves forward and sharing their ideas with others. The children worked hard to create thoughtful manifestos, prepare speeches, and present PowerPoints to their peers. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow and their willingness to try something new, even when it felt challenging. Although we do not yet know all the results, every child who participated should be very proud of their effort, determination, and commitment to making a positive difference in our school.
This week, we learned about British Values and discussed what they mean in our school and everyday lives. We explored the importance of democracy, understanding that everyone has a voice and the right to share their opinions and ideas.
The children made excellent links between democracy and our upcoming Student Parliament elections. Many children expressed an interest in becoming members of parliament and began thinking about how they could make a positive difference in our school community.
We were particularly impressed by the enthusiasm shown by our aspiring candidates, who shared some brilliant ideas and demonstrated great confidence while presenting their manifestos. We are looking forward to seeing more creative campaigns and hearing the children's voices as we take part in the democratic voting process.
