Discovering a love of reading

Author Visit

Reception pupils were delighted to welcome children's author Harriet Boddy and her dog, Toby, from The Adventures of Toby book series. Harriet read Toby Goes to the Zoo to the children, who thoroughly enjoyed listening to Toby's exciting adventure and meeting the star of the story in person!

World Book Day

We had a wonderful time celebrating World Book Day! The children loved dressing up as their favourite characters, attending a special assembly, and receiving certificates and sweets to celebrate all their fantastic reading. We ended the day by acting out one of our favourite stories, Room on the Broom — complete with our very own cat!

Exploring Dinosaur Books

During our Long Long Ago topic, the children loved sharing and exploring books about Dinosaurs, using the illustrations to spark their curiosity and imagination about the past.
