World War I

As part of their History learning about World War I, Year 6 pupils created detailed double-page spreads to showcase their knowledge and understanding of this significant period in history. Through research, careful presentation and thoughtful reflection, pupils explored key events, experiences and the impact of the war on individuals and communities. Their work demonstrated their ability to organise historical information, make connections and communicate their learning creatively.

Celebrating Black History

As part of Black History Month, pupils have explored the lives and achievements of inspiring individuals who have made significant contributions to history and society. Through their learning, children discovered the stories of people including Fanny Eaton, Lolita Roy, and Ellen and William Craft, developing a deeper understanding of their experiences, challenges and lasting impact.

Pupils researched these remarkable individuals and created work to showcase their learning, celebrating their resilience, courage and determination. Through this exploration, children reflected on the importance of recognising diverse voices and the contributions of people from different backgrounds throughout history.

The Transatlantic Slave Trade

As part of their History learning about the Transatlantic Slave Trade, Year 6 created thoughtful double-page spreads to share their knowledge and understanding. Through their research, pupils explored the experiences of enslaved people, the impact of the trade, and the importance of remembering these stories as we reflect on justice, equality and human dignity.
