“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own and my own know me”. John 10:14"
In this branch, nursery children will learn about what it means to be a friend of Jesus by exploring the lives of key figures such as St. Peter and St. Paul. They’ll also be introduced to other saints who hold special significance within their school or class, helping them see examples of faith and friendship with Jesus. To deepen their understanding, someone from the local parish may visit to share their own experience of faith and why being a friend of Jesus matters to them. Children will look at diverse portrayals of Jesus, including images from non-European traditions, to recognize that Jesus is known and loved across many cultures. Throughout the year, they’ll also learn about other faith communities in ways that connect to the class’s experiences and the local community. This journey may involve inviting someone from a different faith to share how their community is meaningful to them, fostering an environment of respect, curiosity, and appreciation for others’ beliefs and traditions.
