Catholic Primary School

“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own and my own know me”. John 10:14"

Spring

This term we have been focusing on our ball-handling skills.

This term we have been putting out fitness skills to the test by completing a range of upper-body, lower-body and core exercises. We will continue to monitor our fitness levels throughout the spring and summer terms and aim to improve our scores/reps with each session.

Year 5 - Swimming

Year 5 completed a 6 week block of swimming at Latymer Upper School which they really enjoyed.

Year 4 have been learning about the importance of keeping fit and the benefits it can have on our physical and mental health. They have learned how to get fit in new, enjoyable ways e.g. through circuits with friends, boxing and dancing.

Year 3 - Swimming

Year 3 completed a 6 week swim block at Latymer Upper School.

Year 4 have been refining their passing and receiving skills, as well as developing the important skills required to gain and keep possession of a ball. Additionally, they have been  practicing shooting towards a target. These are transferable skills, which pupils can apply to netball, basketball, handball and skittleball, as well as many other sports.

Year 3 - Multi-skills- Invasion Games (netball/skittleball/handball)

Pupils are developing the skills used in netball, handball and skittleball. Pupils are gaining an awareness of transferable skills and how the same skills can be used in various sports. Today pupils focused on passing and keeping possession. The term defender was introduced and pupils each had a turn at defending the ball from the opposition. Pupils developed their passing and communication skills. Pupils became more aware of the importance of movement when looking for a pass.
