Writing and Recording a Voiceover Script for an Animation

Year 5 Presents: A Voiceover Narrative for Mental Health Week (1).mp4

For Mental Health Week, we focused on understanding our emotions and discovering what makes us feel happy and strong. We watched an animation about a child who helps others but absorbs their sadness along the way. As he becomes sad, he eventually finds his own source of happiness and learns how to feel better. After watching the animation, we wrote and recorded voiceovers for the story, explaining the boy’s emotional journey and the importance of knowing our emotions. We shared the key lesson that self-awareness helps us grow and bounce back stronger. The animation was played during the assembly, and it was a great way to share the message with everyone!

Anti-Bullying Week and the Dignity of the Human Person

This week is Anti-Bullying Week, and our whole school took part in creating anti-bullying posters, each including a thoughtful prayer. Year 5 children not only made their posters but also gave an amazing presentation to share their work and ideas with the rest of the class.

Guided by the Catholic Social Teaching of the Dignity of the Human Person, we reflected on the importance of treating everyone with respect and kindness. This activity reminded us that every person is made in the image of God and deserves to be treated with love and compassion, helping to create a school environment where all are safe and valued.

Amelia in our class also brought in a giant rosary bead, and together we prayed the rosary, lifting up our prayers for peace, unity, and kindness within our school community.

Their campaigns reflect Catholic Social Teaching by promoting dignity, stewardship, and peace. This activity helps them live out these values while making a positive impact in their school.
