“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own and my own know me”. John 10:14"
In Branch 5, To the Ends of the Earth, pupils will continue their journey through St. John’s Gospel. They will explore how St. John's account of the Resurrection connects back to earlier biblical narratives, revealing that in Jesus, the relationship between God and humanity is fully restored. Pupils will learn about the Christian belief in the Resurrection of Christ and the revelation of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, deepening their understanding of these central beliefs.
Pupils will also explore the idea of Jesus as the "new Adam," making connections between scripture passages from both the Old and New Testaments.
Reflecting on John’s words, “There were many other signs that Jesus worked, and the disciples saw, but they are not recorded in this book,” pupils will consider why some people find it difficult to believe in things they have not seen.
We created a fascinating Saint Timeline today, showcasing various Saints and witnesses of God. We conducted research on numerous Saints, spanning at least four different historical eras, to understand their lives and contributions. Here are our results.
We explored the powerful contrast between Adam and Jesus by using symbols to compare their actions. We learned that Adam's disobedience brought sin and death into the world for everyone. In contrast, we discovered how Jesus, through His perfect obedience, brought life and salvation, overcoming the effects of Adam's sin. This activity helped us understand how Jesus, the "last Adam," reversed the consequences of the first Adam's actions, bringing abundant grace to humanity.
Today, we recreated the Holy Spirit transforming fear into bold witness. We were inspired by the words found in John's Gospel (John 20:19-23) and Acts (2:14).
We acted out three scenes:
