The Good Shepherd

Catholic Primary School

“I am the Good Shepherd; I know my own and my own know me”. John 10:14"

Human Flourishing

‘God has created me to do Him some definite service. He has committed some work to me which He has not committed to another. I have my mission. I may never know it in this life, but I shall be told it in the next. I am a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons. ‘He has not created me for naught. I shall do good; I shall do His work. ... Therefore, I will trust Him, whatever I am, I can never be thrown away … He knows what He is about.’

John Henry Newman

In his proclamation of the Kingdom of God, Jesus Christ offered humankind a transforming vision for a society geared towards the wellbeing and wholeness of every human being, flowing out from the loving purposes of God; Wholeness, human flourishing, and abundant life – life to the full – is what we aim to give our pupils.

‘Tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will understand’ (reputedly Confucius, 450BC).
